Assessment: This year we will be assessing the success of students by determining if they have met the outcomes provided in the course curriculum. Through the types of assessment listed above students will show if they have mastered the skills taught in the class. The following 4 point scale will be used to show a student’s understanding of a concept.
|
Students will show their mastery though the following methods: Tests, Quizzes, Projects, Labs & Class Notes.
·
Students may have the opportunity to rewrite some assessments depending on the circumstances involved. The final decision will be Mr. Hamby’s, but every student will be given an opportunity to succeed as long as they show that they have the attitude needed. **In order to re-write a test you will have to bring back your original test corrected.
Paper or laptops? It is your choice whether you bring a laptop for your work, most times it may make some concepts easier. It is your choice but be sure that you choose the right tool, blaming the tool you used is not an acceptable excuse for not finishing the work!
Portfolios: You will have a binder in the class to store all of your paper assessments, so you can check back to see where you need extra help.

Science notes:
Remember that we will be completing our science notes together this year. You will be grouped with other students into working groups. Each working group will be responsible for creating their own set of notes and will be graded on their contributions. There will be a chances to form new working groups at the start of each new unit.
